Henrik Lundqvist #30
Was für ein Tag! nach einer langen Karriere, die ihn von Schweden direkt zu den New York Rangers brachte, ist Henrik Lundqvist's Jersey gestern Nacht im Madison Square Garden (the not so square garden) unter die Decke gezogen worden - die Nummer 30 wurde "retired", eine hohe Ehre in der NHL, die an grossen Spielerpersönlichkeiten keinen Mangel hat.
Als einem der besten Goalies dieses Millenniums gebührt Henrik diese Ehre. Nach unzähligen Erfolgen mit seiner schwedischen Nationalmannschaft und bei Olympia ist eine hervorragende Karriere nun zu Ende gegangen.
Lediglich den Stanley Cup konnte er in 15 Jahren mit den New York Rangers niemals erringen, obwohl es die Rangers einmal in den Playoffs sehr weit geschafft hatten, blieb ihm diese höchste Ehre verwehrt.
Im Mai 2019 gelang es Jutta und Chris vom Fanclub die Treuen, das Original New York Rangers Jersey von Lundqvist, das bei einem Besuch in New York im NHL Shop gekauft wurde, von Henrik persönlich bei der WM in Bratislava signieren zu lassen. Unser Dank gilt hier besonders unserm Freund David Bedrin (ehemaliger RB Equipmentmanager), der uns diese Gelegenheit ermöglichte.

What a phantastic day! After a long career, which brought him directly from Sweden to the New York Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist found himself in the center of yesterday night's celebrations at the Madison Square Garden (the not so square garden... ) for the retirement of his # 30 Jersey, which was pulled up to the Rasters to stay there forever. This is regarded a great honour within the NHL, which has no lack of outstanding player personalities.
One of the best goalies of this millennium, Henrik deserves this honour. After numerous successes with his Swedish National team in World Championships and at Olympic Games over the years, an outstanding career has come to an end.
The only thing he never succeeded in, was winning the Stanley Cup - in all the 15 years of his commitment to the New York Rangers, they made it far into the Play Offs once, but he was denied this utmost triumph.
In May 2019, Chris and Jutta hat the opportunity to get an autograph on the #30 Jersey of Henrik, which they bought during a stay in New York City at the Official NHL Fanstore. He signed it personnally at the World Championship in Bratislava for us, and our heartfelt Thank You goes out to our friend David Bedrin (former RB Equipment Manager) who made this dream come true.
